Founded by an educator, mother, and lifelong nature lover, Roots to Wrens grew from a dream to reconnect children with the rhythms of the earth. With a background in early childhood education, child psychology, and forest kindergarten models, our founder envisioned a place where children could experience joy, wonder, and freedom outdoors-every single day.
Inspired by the teachings of Rachel Carson, David Sobel, Richard Louv, and the Children & Nature Network, Roots to Wrens was created as a response to nature-deficit disorder and the growing disconnection between children and the land. We believe that children who grow up knowing the woods, creeks, and skies will grow into adults who care for and protect them.
